The Alice Driver Awards for Inspirational Women

Join us for The Alice Driver Awards 2022 as we celebrate inspirational women who have helped improve the lives of refugees and people seeking sanctuary in the Reading area.

The Awards are named in memory of our dear friend Alice Driver. Alice was an incredible woman who spent years fighting for the rights of refugees and the LGBTQ+ community while battling terminal illness.

Alice sadly passed away three years ago, and we honour her memory by celebrating other inspirational women who have worked to help refugees in the area.

Nominations for this year’s awards were opened on Wednesday 8th March, International Women’s Day, and the award ceremony is taking place in Reading Council’s Council Chambers on Thursday 30th June.

The event is organised by Reading City of Sanctuary and Refugee Support Group, and is hosted by The Mayor’s Office.
