CEO Sleepout

The CEO Sleepout Was a Success – And It Stayed Dry!

Last night, our CEO Nick joined fellow participants for the CEO Sleepout – a powerful event raising awareness and funds to tackle homelessness. After hearing from those with lived experience, Nick spoke about a growing crisis: refugees who, after finally being granted asylum, can be given as little as seven days to leave their temporary accommodation. Many have been barred from working during the claims process and find themselves suddenly at risk of homelessness.

Reflecting on the night, Nick said:
“I was a bit cold and uncomfortable, but we were safe, surrounded by friendly faces, and even got a cup of tea in the morning. I wouldn’t want to do this every night.”

Refugee Support Group is working closely with Reading Council on a homelessness project, because we know just how tough life can be for those who’ve risked everything to find safety in the UK—only to face new barriers once they arrive.

We can’t do this work without your help. Please consider supporting Nick’s night out by making a donation.
