A Refugee Week 2021 Event
Wed 16th June – Fragments
Fragments is a series of six filmed theatre pieces, each telling a different story written and performed by asylum seekers and refugees living in Berkshire.
The six short films cover are an exciting and emotional mix, everything from mental health and life during a pandemic, to persecution and the UK asylum system, that is sure to entertain.
The films were premiered during the online event, then BBC Radio 3’s Fiona Talkington hosted a Live Q&A Panel with the performers to discuss their stories and the themes they touch upon in their pieces.
Inspired by The Living Newspaper street theatre movement, Fragments was entirely written, performed and professionally recorded during the most recent COVID-19 Lockdown, made possible by funding from Arts Council England.
Fragments is presented by Reading Refugee Support Group and Rank & File Theatre.
