Welcome All Award Winners!

Refugee Support Group has been honoured with the inaugural Welcome All Award at the 2024 Pride of Reading Awards. The award recognises diversity and inclusiveness in Reading, as a welcoming town to all and City of Sanctuary for ten years.

We’re thrilled to receive this award. It’s an honour to contribute to making Reading a welcoming place for refugees. As a City of Sanctuary, Reading embodies the belief that ‘we have more in common than that which divides us.’ RSG’ goal is to create a society where basic human needs are met and refugees receive the support they need to thrive and contribute to their new communities.

We were delighted to invite Tomson Chauke on stage to share the award.  Tomson was a refugee and an RSG client many years ago. Tomson has tirelessly supported RSG and continues to give back to the Reading community.

RSG’s work is made possible through its partnerships with various organisations and a dedicated team of volunteers. We’re incredibly fortunate to have the support of our amazing volunteers. This award is a tribute to their hard work and RSG accepted it on behalf of everyone who contributes to making RSG the compassionate and impactful organisation it is today.
