Lord Alf Dubs was born in Czechoslovakie and came to the UK from Prague as a child refugee, escaping the Nazis through Sir Nicholas Winton’s 'Kindertransport' scheme. Lord Alf has gone on to become an Labour MP, CEO of a charity, and a Member of the House of Lords as a Labour peer. He is a tireless campaigner and champion for the rights of refugees and is patron to a number of refugee charities.
Bishop Olivia was born in Kent and taught in several countries in Africa, before being ordained as a deacon in 1997. Bishop Olivia has served her whole ministry in Oxford Diocese, with 10 years in parish ministry before taking on roles as parish development adviser and archdeacon. She has chaired the Diocesan link with Kimberley and Kuruman Diocese in South Africa and has led on the discipleship and clergy wellbeing work for the Diocese. Bishop Olivia has a keen interest in environmental and social justice issues, and currently chairs the Diocesan Partnership in World Mission and Environment Action Programme.
