Cricket Lesson for Refugees

Across the Line: Cricket Lessons for Refugees

The fantastic Berkshire Cricket Foundation organized a free cricket lesson for some of the Afghan refugees staying around Reading. Following its success, the BBC is even looking to cover a future cricket lesson.

Sanctuary Strikers Football Club is another example of sports initiative looking to help refugees become part of the local community. Set up in 2017 by a past volunteer and client of ours, it is the only Refugee Football club in the country.

Activities like football. cricket and other sports can really help families resettling in Reading feel more welcome in their new home. We therefore hope to see more sports sessions like this one in the future; bringing people together.
