Our Gospel Carols Service Was Special

What a show.

It was three years since our last Gospel Carols Service, but it was fully worth the wait!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone that came, sang, danced, and donated at our Gospel Carols Service 2022 on Friday 9th December.

We had dancing in the aisles, moving stories, a choir conga, impressive solos from brave audience members, and the mulled wine was drunk dry.

Thank You!

A big thank you to the incredible Reading Community Gospel Choir who took the roof off once again, and to Bridgitte Tetteh for leading proceedings with aplomb.

We’d also like to thank the wonderful Reading Minster Team for hosting the event, Elena for sharing her story, all of our esteemed guests, and the volunteers who helped to make it all happen

The concert was raising money for our front-line services supporting refugees across Berkshire, and we’ll announce how much was raised soon.

If you weren’t able to attend or would like to donate to help refugees in Berkshire, please donate here: www.refugeesupportgroup.org.uk/donate

Roll on December for the next one!

Can You Help Refugees In Berkshire This Christmas?

Refugee Support Group has been providing advice, support, social activities and practical help for refugees in Berkshire since 1994, but the situation right now is tougher than we’ve ever seen.

The Government are stirring up racism and hatred, refugees are being kept in inhumane conditions like at Manston detention centre, and the spiralling Cost of Living crisis is hitting already destitute refugees that are struggling to afford food and clothing.

Last year, the Afghanistan and Ukraine conflicts saw demand for our services soared by more than 460%. With the current situation, that demand has continued to grow and we are struggling to support the number of people that need our help.

That’s why we need your help.

Please consider making a monthly donation of £5 a month – the cost of two coffees – to help refugees facing crisis in Berkshire this Christmas.
