Reading Legal Walk 2021 – Mon 12th July

Walk For Refugees at the Reading Legal Walk 2021

Mon 12th July  |  5:00pm – 8:00pm
Start + Finish: Forbury Gardens Bandstand, Reading RG1 3BD

Join us for the Reading Legal Walk and give a lifeline to refugees in Berkshire.

The Reading Legal Walk is a 10km walk to raise money for our free legal advice services for refugees and asylum seekers in Berkshire.

Last year we provided more than 800 refugees and asylum seekers with thousands of hours of free legal advice and practical help that they cannot access elsewhere.

While the number of people needing help has rocketed by over 400% since the start of pandemic, we still rely entirely on donations to run this vital service.

Please join us on Monday 12th July for Reading Legal Walk and help give a lifeline to refugees and asylum seekers in Berkshire.

Walk With Us

We would love to have you join our team. To join, please email jonjo@rrsg.org.uk and we’ll sign you up!

We’re asking walkers to try and raise £250 – roughly the cost of one full day  of advice and support for a refugee family.

We’ll provide posters, images for emails & social media, and can give you lots of ideas to help you raise the money.

If you know anyone who would like to join us for the walk, please forward this on to them!

Join Us Online

If you can’t walk with us in person, you can still walk 10km, raise money and help fund legal advice for refugees and asylum seekers.

Distance: 10km (Roughly 90-120 mins)

COVID-19 / Social Distancing Measures

We want the event to be as safe as possible, so we have introduced the following measures to ensure we can go ahead in a responsible, safe manner.

  • There will be no mass gathering at the start. Teams will meet at the Forbury Bandstand and one person from each team will sign in and collect their route map. Groups will be asked to set off, to avoid gatherings of over 30.
  • At the end, walkers will be asked to collect their free drinks one at a time, and to spread out to avoid any gatherings of over 30.
  • All walkers will be asked to observe safe social distancing before, during and after the walk.
